About Diamond Memories Tours
Beginnings Diamond Memories
started in 1998 with the main focus of providing memory making trips
for fathers & sons and men. The trips were designed to meet three
main needs:
- Fathers don’t spend enough quality time with
their sons. Research has shown that fathers spend about 37 seconds per
day in positive, significant interaction with their children. Imagine
what can happen when a father spends 3-5 days with his son(s).
- Men
don’t spend time with other men. Men are busy. There is work, family
responsibilities. On a Diamond Memories Tour, you can get to know other
guys better - and their sons (if you want, no pressure.) There’s time
to relax and watch a game, a baseball movie, spend time around a
swimming pool.
- Baseball fans dream of visiting different
stadiums. We can make that dream a reality. We’ve taken guys to all the
stadiums. We get good seats. We have good times together.
Create a legacy Notice that we are called “Memories” not memory. We want you to create positive, warm memories that will last a lifetime.
The
biggest complement we can receive will happen 20 years from now when
you son tells his son about the trip(s) that you took him on. A Diamond
Memories Tour will become part of your family lore.
One 11 year old told his father, “Dad, we have to go on this trip. This is our tradition.”
Since 1998, we have safely logged over 40,000 miles with close to 500 participants.
Family Friendly All
Diamond Memories Tours are run in such a way as to be family friendly,
whether the tour is father/son or families. There are three basic
boundaries: 1. When the bus/plane is ready to leave, be on it. 2. There will be no drunkenness. 3. There will be no extra curricular marital activities, whether professional or gratis.
Boundary
breakers are dismissed from the trip with no financial refund or
consideration. So far, we have never had someone breach the boundaries
on a trip. Sometimes, “guys” trips have a reputation for being one big
drunken party; we are one big party but sober.
We want everyone to know they are going to have a good time.
About the trip organizer: Jack Dyson
Beginning
in the 1980’s, Jack Dyson worked with high school students. Part of the
job, was arranging for trips throughout the Northeast and west to
Colorado. He learned what it took to get people from one place to the
other making sure all their needs were met and they had a good time
throughout the trip.
In the 1990’s, Jack was the Director of
Small Groups and Outreach for a church. Part of the role was leading
people on overseas trips to Asia and Europe. When all the details are
covered people can relax and enjoy each other.
On a Diamond
Memories Tour, our goal is for you to enjoy yourself, enjoy special
relationships, and not have to worry about the details. As several
regulars say, “Once I get on the bus, I know I can relax and enjoy
myself because I know all the details are covered.”
Come. Be a part of a trip. You’ll make some memories that will last a lifetime. |
